MINISTRY

The ministry of our church reflects our understanding of discipleship.  In Worship we seek to provide an opportunity for the gathered congregation to encounter God.  Through music, prayer, proclamation and communion we open ourselves to meet God and to be encouraged by faith.

Through Education we seek to challenge people to grow as disciples.  We have Sunday school classes for all ages from pre-kindergarten through senior adult.  Our goal is to prepare people for confessing Jesus as Lord, then to assist them in the journey of faith they undertake as one of Jesus’ followers.

Fellowship provides us an opportunity to join fellow Christians in a variety of opportunities.  Bible Study is held on Sunday evenings.  This provides us an opportunity to join together for the study of God’s Word and prayer.

The Christian Women’s Fellowship meets in different women’s homes each month.  Our women are also active in regional retreats and events.

We have different ministries for each age group of young people.  Elementary age children meet for Treasure Club and older youth meet for C.Y.F. on Sunday evenings for meals and activities.

Through our Outreach ministry we try to share the good news in a variety of ways.  Our church is an active participant in the D.A.P.S. program with several members having leadership positions.  We support the West Area Ministry.  This grouping of Christian Churches provides programming and fellowship for over 50 congregations.  We “go to the ends of the earth” by contributing to the Basic Mission Finance to the Christian Church.

By Evangelism we understand our responsibility to make new disciples for Jesus.  Each year we have a “Friend Day” and encourage members to invite someone to join them for worship.  Other activities, such as our Ice Cream Social, Church Picnic, and Christmas Eve Service, provide opportunities for us to invite people to join us in the family of faith.  Most importantly, we understand that we witness Christ through the lives we live, and we encourage members to have an active witness.

We invite you to join us for worship and/or one of the other activities at the church as we build for a new century.
